Liz Vossen, M.Sc., M.C.
My name is Liz Vossen, and I am an associate counsellor at the Vancouver Therapy Collective with a Master's Degree in Counselling. I am committed to creating a space where you feel genuinely heard, respected, and supported.
I believe therapy is most powerful when it's a collaboration, when you bring curiosity and openness, and I bring warmth, insight, and genuine care. My approach is about helping you understand the patterns that aren't serving you anymore, reconnecting with your inherent worth, and moving toward a life that feels more aligned with who you really are. Together, we will explore new perspectives, develop practical strategies, and create meaningful shifts both inside and outside the therapy room.
A little bit about me.
I have an undying optimism in human potential. I believe that at our core, each of us is capable, worthy, and wise, but along the way, we can adopt patterns of thinking and coping that no longer serve us. These patterns often stem from beliefs we have internalized: that we are not enough, not safe, not worthy. Therapy is about returning to wholeness, not by getting rid of parts of yourself, but by understanding them, accepting them, and finding new ways forward.
Before I became a therapist, I worked in organizational and systems change across corporate, government, and international development sectors. I loved the big-picture work, but what I found again and again was that people trusted me. They shared what was really going on, and I was endlessly curious. Colleagues came to me when they needed someone to listen, to advocate, to see them. Those experiences showed me that individual transformation, the personal and relational work, is where I am meant to be.

Liz’s Capstone research focused on facilitating profound personal transformation in therapeutic settings. Her work explored how to support clients seeking fundamental shifts in identity, meaning-making, and life direction, moving beyond traditional symptom management to create lasting, integrated change rather than surface-level adjustments that require constant maintenance.

Liz cares deeply about building strong, trusting relationships with her clients because these relationships help create the safety people need to make real, lasting change. She is interested in approaches that respect the complexity of human experience and help clients move beyond simply managing symptoms toward meaningful, long-term growth that fits who they truly are.

Before transitioning to counselling, Liz had an extensive international career supporting social and environmental change work around the world. Her work focused on facilitating multi-organizational systems-level change to address complex global challenges.
The creation of change has been the constant thread throughout Liz's career. She considers it a tremendous honor to be trusted with the inner lives of her clients and to support their personal transformation journeys. This unique background in large-scale change work brings a distinctive perspective to her therapeutic practice, understanding transformation at both systemic and deeply personal levels.
My counselling services.
I offer one-on-one counselling to adults in Vancouver or online anywhere in BC. In our sessions, we will explore the roots of unhelpful patterns and connect your past experiences to your present challenges. I will also help you build practical strategies and new behaviours you can use in daily life.
My clients often feel that life is not quite how they want it to be and are looking for something more authentic. They come with a wide range of experiences. Some have gone through a loss, some find that everyday situations have become difficult, and others want to address long standing patterns that no longer feel sustainable.
If you're looking for more satisfaction, greater alignment with your values, and the confidence to move toward the life that's meant for you, then let's talk.
My therapy modalities and influences.
I meet every client with empathy, authenticity, and genuine care. I bring my full self to each session because I believe therapy works best when it's a real relationship. You can expect to feel seen, safe, and supported as well as gently challenged to grow. I want you to leave our sessions feeling energized to try new things and confident that you're making progress.
My approach to counselling draws from a range of therapy modalities including relational therapy, Experiential & Emotion-Focused (AEDP-influenced), Somatic and Mindfulness-Informed Approaches, and EMDR Therapy.
I'm here to collaborate with you in your healing journey, and I'm genuinely excited about the possibility of working together.
My rates.
The session rate for associate therapists is $160 CAD for a 50 minute appointment. All new clients are offered a free 20 minute consultation so we can talk through what you are looking for, make sure we are a good match, and go over any initial questions.
After each session, I provide a receipt that you can submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement, depending on your coverage. It is a good idea to confirm with your insurer whether they include services from a Registered Clinical Counsellor. If your benefits require a Registered Psychologist, please mention this during the consultation.
Fees are due at the end of each session and can be paid by e-transfer or credit card. Direct billing is not yet available.
Book an appointment.
I offer all new clients a first free 20 minute introduction call. This helps us get to know each other better, ensure we are the right fit before we start counselling, and directly address any questions or concerns you may have about the process.
