The Intake Process
What to expect when joining the Vancouver Therapy Collective
Step 1: Schedule a free consultation phone call with an intake specialist
Every new client is offered a free initial consultation phone call.
During your consultation, we welcome any questions you might have about our mission and the services we provide at the VTC.
Consultation calls typically take about 15 minutes. During this call, we will ask a few questions about your current and past mental health challenges.

Step 2: Gather your information
During your scheduled consultation call, an intake specialist will help determine your session fee. This will be based on your current monthly income (after tax), and any healthcare benefits you may have.
We encourage you to have this information available at the time of the call.

Step 3: Attend your consultation phone call
Please expect a phone call from an intake specialist at the time of your scheduled consultation.
Step 4: VTC account information
Following your consultation, you will receive an email with sign-in information and instructions for your VTC account. There, you will be able to communicate with your counsellor? Payment? What else?
Step 5: Complete a few brief forms
In addition to your account information, you will receive an electronic copy of the following forms to complete prior to your first counselling session:
The VTC consent form
An intake form
Two additional questionnaires
Step 6: Hear from your counsellor
You can expect to hear from your counsellor within 48 hours of your consultation appointment.
Together, you will be able to schedule your first in-person or online session!
