  • All new clients start with a free 15 minute consultation where we can address any questions or concerns, determine your personalized counselling costs, and start building a plan to help you.

  • When you reach out to us, we typically respond within 24 hours. Following your free consultation session, you can expect to hear from your counsellor within 48 hours to schedule an initial session.

  • Our free consultation connects you with an intake specialist who will ensure that the VTC is fit to meet your needs. Consultation sessions typically take 15 minutes.

  • Most clients are matched with a therapist within two business days of completing their intake. Your assigned therapist will then contact you directly to schedule your first session. In most cases, therapy begins within one week of the initial intake call.

  • Our counsellors offer a flexible schedule to accommodate your needs as best as possible.

  • Our goal is to make affordable therapy accessible to everyone. We offer a sliding scale rates, which means that counselling rates are based on your personal resources, usually beginning as low as $75 - $110 per session. Rates are determined during you free consultation phone call.

  • Yes. Counselling is led by actively enrolled practicum students in the final year of their master’s programs and closely supervised by Dr. Christopher Brown, RCC.

    Dr. Brown is registered with the BCACC and has completed his doctoral in clinical psychology.

  • Standard sessions typically last about 50 minutes. We are able to offer longer sessions as well based on individual needs.

  • The length of therapy varies for each individual, based on one’s personal preference.

    There is no requirement for a maximum or minimum number of counselling sessions.

  • Both in-person and secure online telehealth therapy options are available to everyone.

  • Yes. Research shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person counselling for many concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress. Our practicum therapists are trained to provide thoughtful, client-centred care in a virtual setting, and all sessions are conducted over a secure and private video platform.

  • Our virtual counselling services are available to any adult currently residing in British Columbia. You do not need a referral from a doctor or a formal diagnosis to begin. Services are open to people from all backgrounds, communities, and regions of the province, including remote or rural areas.
