Jordan Beatty, BSc
Jordan is a clinical counselling intern completing his Master’s of Counselling at City University. His warm and welcoming approach helps foster a collaborative and client-centered space, encouraging sharing and open discussions. Jordan focusses his work with clients who are attempting to navigate their anxiety, life transitions, trauma, stress, life challenges, and are seeking support.
Jordan’s has an eclectic therapeutic approach, combining several approaches together. He draws inspiration from mindfulness and grounding exercises, incorporating this into his practice. Through incorporating dialectical behavioural, person-centered, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioural therapy, Jordan strives to help clients in their journeys and personal growth.
Jordan was born in the lower mainland and has split time between living in Canada and Taiwan. He has experience working with youth and young adults from all walks of life. In his spare time, Jordan enjoys playing badminton, hiking, and kayaking. He is very excited to meet new clients and help them reach their goals.

      Jordan’s capstone examines the psychological rehabilitation process following traumatic injury. Specifically looking into how to overcome barriers faced during the rehabilitation process. His capstone encapsulates his work with both physical and psychological traumatic rehabilitation. His experience strongly relates to his work as a counsellor, acknowledging that psychological rehabilitation is a long and arduous journey. He has gained insights into: social and personal identity disconnection, trauma, anxiety, loss, fear, and mental fortitude.

      Jordan focuses on developing strong relationships with clients to ensure trust and safety in the therapeutic process. Through genuine rapport, he hopes to foster a healing and supportive space to suit clients needs. He hopes to complete further training in EMDR (trauma) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy to better support clients. Jordan also looks to further his philosophical understanding of human nature, allowing him to better understand clients.

      Jordan’s work has largely been done with youth and young adults, helping them work through life struggles. He completed his Bachelors of Science in Behavioural Neuroscience. This has given him the insights into how the human body naturally reacts to the world. Jordan has discovered the importance of therapeutic interventions and looks forward to helping anyone.
